Tata Nano's World Record for the longest Journey!
The Indian auto giant, Tata Motors today celebrated not one but two iconic Nano expeditions. Mr. Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors and India’s first Formula One motor racing driver, Narain Karthikeyan today felicitated Mr. Srikarunya Subrahmanyam, a Bangalore based motoring enthusiast and his team, for entering the Guinness World Records. This significant achievement has been achieved with a national expedition in a Tata Nano.
Mr. Yadav and Mr. Karthikeyan today unveiled the book ‘Atop the World’ which has been written and edited by Mr. Thomas Chacko. Mr. Chacko is a Kochi-based, 63-year old motoring enthusiast, who completed a 78-day long national expedition in a Tata Nano, covering the length and breadth of the country. These momentous achievements come from sheer passion for motoring, backed by a robust and reliable car like the Tata Nano.
Speaking on this remarkable achievement, Mr. Ranjit Yadav, President – Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “The Tata Nano has put India on the world motoring map when it comes to frugal engineering. The car has made us proud yet again with this record. The Tata Nano has proved its robustness and reliability in many car rallies and expeditions undertaken by Tata Motors and by customers on their own. It is motoring enthusiasts like Karun and Thomas who emote true passion for motoring. We are proud to be associated with them and we will continue to encourage such expeditions as it will enable customers to further understand and experience the brand’s true value.”
Celebrating a dream come true:
Tata Motors today unveiled the book ‘Atop the World’ written and edited by Mr. Thomas Chacko. The book captures Mr. Chacko’s dream project of exploring the country in a Tata Nano. Mr. Chacko successfully completed his 78-day long dream project on July 21, 2012. The 78-day all India drive has tested the Nano across the some of the most rugged terrains of the country and through all kinds of weather. The car emerged successful in this test of endurance.
Felicitating the two motoring enthusiasts, the Ace Racer, Mr. Narain Karthikeyan said, “I lately have seen a new breed of traveller emerge, one who has a streak of adventure and passion for motoring. I have known people who have driven immense distances just for the fun of it, even though a far more painless option of taking a flight or a train was always there. This is exactly the spirit that encourages enthusiasts like Srikarunya and Thomas to overcome challenges that comes with driving long distances especially the sort of mileage that they have done. But all this effort has to be backed up by a reliable package – which is the car and having been involved with the Nano since it existed on a drawing board, I am not surprised that it has managed to achieve this.”

Micromax Canvas 4 Spotted Online!
Leaked images on the Internet show that the MIcromax canvas 4 will be available in white as well. The commercials that were released showed a black smartphone. The device is listed on Saholic as the Canvas 4 A117. According to Saholic’s listing, the Canvas 4 will run on Android Jelly Bean, have a quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. If the device runs on a quad-core processor we think it will be the same MediaTek chipset that powers the Canvas HD. The 2GB RAM will ensure that the device runs very smoothly. The smartphone will also sport 64GB expandable storage. The device also shows off dual-SIM capabilities.
There is no other information available about the specifications of the device and all we can do is speculate as to what the Canvas 4 will offer until Micromax lifts the curtain from the device. Considering that the device is the successor to the Canvas HD we think that it will sport a full HD display. Rumours do suggest that it will have a 13MP rear-facing camera. Cameras on budget smartphone have had some questionable output in the past but there are few devices like the Spice Stellar Pinnacle Pro that has a really good camera on a budget device.
We can also hope that the Canvas 4 will have a bigger battery ensuring better battery life. Stay tuned, as we will bring you the complete scoop on the Canvas 4 as soon as we get the information.

Tiger - Undisputed Hero of Jungle!
All the zoo-bred white tigers of the world come from Rewa, Madhya
Pradesh in India. Tigers are the largest of the big cats family. Its roar can
be heard from more then 2 miles away. One adult tiger can eat 60 pounds of fresh meet in one seating.
Do you know that tigers have been known to kill and eat crocodiles. At
other end tigers were neither a bloodthirsty killer nor a man eater by nature.
They are also known to kill and eat sometimes the cubs of other male tigers.
Tigers can spend up to 18 hours in sleeping. it can leap more than 30
feet in one bound. No two tigers have the same pattern of stripes. If you shave
the fur from tigers it would still have stripes. J
They have excellent vision, estimates at 6 times better than human eye.
The most developed sense of tigers is hearing.
When several tigers are present at a kill, the males will often wait
for females and cubs to eat first, unlike lions, which do the opposite. Tigers
rarely argue or fight over a kill and simply wait turns. Most tigers
have yellow eyes, but white tigers usually have blue eyes, due to the gene for
blue eyes being linked to the gene for white fur. The gene for being
cross-eyed, or boss-eyed, is also linked, so many white tigers have crossed
blue eyes.
Tiger parts were widely used in Chinese medicines.
Brain – To cure laziness and Pimples
Blood – For strengthening the constipation and will power
Teeth – For rabies, asthma and sores on panis
Skin – To treat mental illness
Bile – For convulsions in children
Work-from-home employees toil harder than their office peers!!
Employees who work from home slog away for at least seven hours a week longer than those in office, according to a new study.
Researchers at the University of Texas in Austin found that contrary to popular opinion, home workers toil harder than their colleagues who commute.
The study found that employees who work from home add five to seven hours to the standard 40-hour week compared with those who work exclusively at the office, the Daily Express reported.
Employees admitted to using technology such as email to perform office work even when sick or on vacation. The study found that so-called teleworkingblurs the boundary between work and home.
Rising petrol prices and increasing demand for a more equal work-life balance had prompted many white-collar staff to work from home. The study, published in Monthly Labour Review, concluded that teleworking is not helpful in reducing work-family conflicts.
The researchers also found that parents with dependent children are no more likely to work from home than the population as a whole.

Trouble Sleeping? Your Tablet or Smartphone Could Be the Reason!
Do you need
good sleep? Make sure that you keep brightness of your smartphone/tablet low, a
new study research presented at SLEEP 2013, the Associated Professional Sleep Societies annual meeting in Baltimore.
Additionally,
holding the smartphone or tablet at least 14 inches from your eye sight while
using it will also reduce its potential to disturb your sleep.
Smartphones
and tablets can make for sleep-disrupting bedfellows. One cause is believed to
be the bright light-emitting diodes that allow the use of mobile devices in.
The Mayo
Clinic study suggests dimming the smartphone or tablet brightness settings and
holding the device at least 14 inches from your face while using it will reduce
its potential to interfere with melatonin and impede sleep.
"There's a lot of concern about using mobile devices and that prompted me to wonder, are they always a negative factor for sleep?" said co-author Lois Krahn, a psychiatrist and sleep expert at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
"We found that only at the highest setting was the light over a conservative threshold that might affect melatonin levels. If it's at the mid setting or at a low setting it's bright enough to use," Krahn said.
In the
study, researchers experimented with two tablets and a smartphone in a dark
room, using a meter on its most sensitive setting to measure the light the
devices emitted at various settings when held various distances from a person's
face.
They
discovered that when brightness settings were lowered and the devices were held
just over a foot from a user's face, it reduced the risk that the light would
be bright enough to suppress melatonin secretion and disrupt sleep.
This research
can help you in getting better sleep after the long working day… J
